Addiction
They say the cure for Addiction is Connection.
Why do “they” say that?
For many people, addiction is a coping mechanism.
When we feel lonely, unloved, unlovable, we look for ways to soothe and cope with those feelings.
We use alcohol, drugs, food, sugar, caffeine, nicotine, TV, work, sports, sleep, exercise, shopping, gambling, sex, “love”; anything to fill the emptiness inside.
Addiction is a disease, and it can be inherited or picked up by chance.
Let’s look into it more deeply and find healthy connection to take its place.
What is the healthiest connection we can create for ourselves?
The connection between the Inner Adult and the Inner Child with Re-Parenting through Internal Family Systems therapy.
Once we have a loving relationship between our Inner Adult and our Inner Child, we will have a much better chance of having healthy relationships with everyone else.
