Mindfulness and Somatic
When we talk about Mindfulness, we usually think about Meditation. But what is Somatic?
Soma means body in latin. When we talk about Somatic, we’re talking about the nervous system.
With Meditation, we are training and learning about the Mind.
With Somatic practice, we are training and learning about the entire Nervous System.
We learn how to read the Nervous System to help us know how we are feeling and to get better at listening to our intuition.
We learn how to train the Nervous System to help us feel safe and calm when we are feeling unsafe, anxious, unclear, or otherwise disconnected from ourselves.
